DoD: Special Projects Division

The DOD:SPD was founded in the wake of the Rikti War, where the United States military found itself woefully unprepared for the highly-advanced alien foes that it faced. In order to ensure that the military would not be caught so unprepared again, the Pentagon formed a special multi-service command center specifically for the development and testing of new weapons, equipment, training techniques, and tactics to compete on the modern, super-powered battlefield.

In 2007, the SPD was relocated to Paragon City to take advantage of the the city’s position as the spearhead of new technological development – and because the many threats facing the city were deemed to be excellent opportunities to field-test the new projects.

Major Andrew Garrison of the U.S. Air Force, a well-respected pilot who had been working with bleeding-edge tech since the War, was tapped to be the commanding officer. Gunnery Sergeant Ray Zorrini, a veteran Marine who had retired to Paragon City, was pulled out of retirement to serve as the Command Non-com, so that the Division could benefit both from his combat experience and from his contacts within Paragon City’s vigilante community.

Now, the DOD:SPD is actively recruiting military men and women with unusual talents, and outfitting them with the newest and most advanced hardware currently used. The threats to Paragon City, and to the United States, demand nothing less.

((The SPD is a military-themed “sister group” to the Star Patrol. Any military-themed alts for Star Patrol members and friends are welcome to join – contact @Talyn Derre (Andrew Garrison) and @ScooterTwo (GySgt. Ray Zorrini) for an invitation.))
