Planning Ahead
With the website up and active and a large number of Star Patrol members also up and active, I would like to schedule events we can all participate in. However, I also need a method of informing everybody about these events and possibly getting confirmation of particular members’ attendance prior to an event’s start. Obviously there is this updates page, as well as the MotD visible to all SP members in game. Unfortunately, the MotD is not archived so if it’s updated, any notice may be lost to some members, and this website relies on it being visited to notify anyone of anything.
So I’m open to suggestions as to how to get as many people notified of upcoming events well in advance. I have a number of tools available, such as emails, subscriber lists, online calendars… I just don’t know what will be the best to use. Please send me you ideas at bowman@star-patrol.net.

Still trying to figure out how to add a MotD to a chat channel in CoX. If we can manage THAT, leaving a SG MotD to join a Star Patrol channel, and leaving a MotD THERE with upcoming events, will reach members no matter WHAT character they log in with, as long as they check the channel.

…And have succeeded.
For now, you (the members of Star Patrol) can simply search and add yourselves to the channel “Star Patrol”. Once the bulk of the SG members are added, this channel will be made private – only channel admins will be able to invite new members. The channel admins will be Bowman, Wright, Blake and I initially.
